Why on earth would he? WWE has no use for him. Not to mention that he's old now and seems to always be getting injured.

"there's a feeling that WWE creative isn't going to do anything significant with Christian and he's just "playing out the string."
He's just now realizing this?

Seems like Christian probably has plenty of money... he could go help out some local promotion or something. What does Edge do with his time? LOL

I love Christian as a performer. Will it be sad to watch him leave? Yeah, it was when Edge did the same. Do I think leaving is his best option? Yeah.
He doesn't get used. He has been in the business for years now. I don't think he has the fanbase that he once had, so it's not like they can really use him for anything. At this point, I feel like he has done everything he can do, honestly. Unfortunately, I don't he him being inducted into the HoF as quickly as Edge was neither.

Of course he held out hope that eventually he'd be a legit Main Event guy I honestly thought that he could've been (and still think that he could've been). In fact, there were times when he was pretty up there in popularity. It's sad that he never actually did get to be a legit main eventer, but sometimes he failed to prove himself and other times whehn I think he was proving himself, he just didn't have the fanbase anymore.

I obviously like him quite a bit more than you, but yeah, "Captain Charisma" was a ridiculous thing for him to call himself. Charisma is not his thing. I actually think that WWE could have made really good use of Christian when they were trying to build the tag division. It has always been, and is still, where he's strongest. Pair him with a powerfully built young guy and you might have a team worth following

You're certainly welcome to that opinion. I don't agree. I think he's a solid midcard guy that managed to use sleight-of-hand to make himself appear like a Main Eventer by leaving WWE in a hissy over airplane tickets, then getting TNA to promise him a title run if he signed with them. WWE made the mistake of thinking that popular in TNA meant anything at all in WWE, and brought him back at a higher position on the card than he really deserved... and it backfired on them very quickly. Christian has put on some phenomenal matches, but overall as a performer, he's a guy who makes other guys look good. He's a sidekick, not a superhero.

Edge helps out indie promotions as well as being in "Haven" Anybody know if that's a good show? I watch Haven mostly because it's got Stephen King's name on it... most episodes are pretty dull, but the meta-plot is strong.

Judging by some of the guys that have been legit main event guys....I'd take the sidekick over them any day. Anyways, I agree he's more of a sidekick. He's kind of like R-Truth (although admittedly Truth is better). They're both good (at least to me), can put in good matches, and are used for nothing more than to make others look good. I also don't think Truth having a title run would've ever been too good, because I honestly think that he doesn't have enough of a following (sadly).

and the elephant in the room....AE ends another career early..? Does seem like 40 is an awfully young retirement age compared to previous generations of wrestlers, who worked well into their 40's and often 50's
