I'm not going to get into a debate over whether he deserves his place in wrestling history or not. The fact that he was one of the biggest names in the history of the business is indisputable. Of course he deserves to be in the HoF. He's one of the biggest stars in the history of the business and is arguably one-half of the biggest rivalry WCW had in the Monday Night Wars era. I'm not choosing to be willfully ignorant of his drawing power as that is a factor. In the end it comes down to "do you reward them more for buisiness accomplishments or talent" and flies their need to be a balance their? Well when a man impacts the business in such a way that Sting did, is there really need for an argument as to whether he was a great in ring performer or not in relations to whether he deserves to be in a hall of fame?

I can honestly say that without Sting, my interest in WCW would probably not have lasted. It was the arrival of The Outsides that made me start watching (being a huge Kevin Nash fan), but it was Sting's transformation into the "Crow" type character that made the ongoing story really matter to me. It was all kinds of epic.
... if someone asked me what epitomized the confluence of the 1990's and professional wrestling, I wouldn't say the Attitude Era like many would. I would say the transformation of a loud fan favorite surfer boy into a brooding, ultra-violent goth who was the hero of the story was the perfect time capsule.

Sting had skills, and could work a good match, and a pretty good promo while we're at it. not to mention he was a draw, one of WCW's biggest draws. during a time when WCW was beating WWE..soundly..

I agree, but there's no point in getting upset about a fool being a fool. Sting? Sting??? Sting doesn't deserve to be in a wrestling HoF? How on earth does that creep into anyone's head? Does Sting really deserve many accolades? The man put on some great performances when working with guys who had ring psychology but he was never anything special in any regard of performance Absolutely! There are many qualities that make a great Pro Wrestler, very few people posses all of these qualities. Sting Connects with the fans, and puts asses in seats. My favorite Wrestler of all time is Rowdy Roddy Piper. Terrible Worker. It took Bret Hart to walk him through the best match of his career. But for me Piper brings so much more to the table than in ring ability. Sting does this for hundreds of thousands of fans. How many bland boring Wrestlers with superb in ring ability have you seen come and go over the years? Countless. Where did sting go over the last 30 years? Nowhere.

Of course, according to Bret Hart, Piper is a great worker and is just underrated by people who don't know any better 8) (This cheap shot at Bret Hart brought to you by an embittered fanboy who lost faith in his one-time idol)

Piper does do this better than a lot of people. John Morrison executes moves very well, not sure he's ever told me a great story in the ring. In my opinion this makes him a bad worker.

This is true, but I think of ring psychology as a portion of good ringwork, not the entire bag of tricks. Piper and JoMo were both limited, just in different ways. I'd rather watch Piper work any day of the week, but that may be primarily because Piper was a character that I cared about, and JoMo never was. If you're not a great character AND you don't really know how to structure matches to draw audiences in, that's going to really limit your potential (much more so than being able to do one or both of those things, but having weak ring skills, as Hulk Hogan and Bill Goldberg can attest)

Well if Christian do retire, I imagine he's satisfied with his career.
- ECW champion. - TNA champion. - Tag Team champion. - European champion. - Intercontinental champion. - World Heavyweight champion.
Wasn't he Hardcore champion briefly as well? He's held everything shy of the US and WWE belts. Even if his world titles runs consisted of him jobbing out to Orton repeatedly, least he held the belt. Though I'd of really liked him to have a stronger run with it.
btw how long does Christian have left on his contact?

Two be fair, two of those titles are utterly meaningless and the most meaningful one on the list he barely got to touch before losing it again 8)

Christian won't get in the hall of fame by his lonesome, but if E&C don't get in that sucker by 2017, all hope is lost.
