They should have it fixed by then. ...Too bad we won't be able to say the same about Wrestlemania itself. POW! OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! You should have dropped the mic.

Unfortunately, Mike forgets that most of the Wrestlemania cards in history have sucked.

Goldeberg vs. Lesnar happened at a non-PG Era 'Mania.

Goldeberg vs. Lesnar happened at a non-PG Era 'Mania. The "boxing" match with Mr. T happened at one of the very first Manias LOL Wrestlemania is not a "professional wrestling megacard." That's what SummerSlam is. Wrestlemania is a pop culture extravaganza, and has typically, at least in my opinion, been pretty crappy on the wrestling side of things. I mean, sure, there have been Steamboat/Savage matches, but for the most part, the in-ring action is tertiary.

Wrestlemania is all about aesthetics. Heck, I'm pretty sure that's all Wrestlemania twenty seven consisted of.

The "boxing" match with Mr. T happened at one of the very first Manias LOL The second one. Yes son, I know which one. My point is that the WWE established that "Wrestle"mania was more about the "mania" and less about the "wrestle" very early on. They took the top heel in the entire company and had him box a celebrity.

Okay I have to say the Network is actually is edited. They removed DDP WCW theme and the dubbed over Cesaro name.

They had to edit his theme; WCW had access to all of Time Warner's music library, so they didn't bother actually getting licenses for anything... which means that now that WCW isn't property of Time Warner anymore, any theme that was copyrighted music isn't available anymore.

Unfortunately, Mike forgets that most of the Wrestlemania cards in history have sucked. Eh, I don't agree. To me, maybe eight or ten of the Wrestlemanias actually sucked. I'd never argue that they were consistent examples of great wrestling, no, but in terms of overall booking and the culmination of important storylines I'd say that they mostly did their jobs as "supercards". That isn't to say that I think they're generally great, either. I'd say that there are an equal or lesser amount of Manias that I actually really love, with the vast majority of them falling into the "okay" column. When removed from all the pomp, pageantry and hype they're pretty much the same as any other PPV- no more consistently awesome or pathetic to any other major PPVs of their respective eras. Personally I was always more excited about the Rumble and Survivor Series matches anyway, and even then it was because I liked their particular gimmicks (gimmicks that have, like every other gimmick these days, become meaningless and / or nonexistent).

Wouldn't WWE just have to license it? Pay royalties to the original copyright holders? If not, then all of their WCW footage is going to be like their anthology dvd footage- edited to shit to remove all potentially infringing tunes.

Wait, seriously? The heck is the purpose of that? Because they removed Antonio from his name so anytime they say Antonio it's either replaced with Cesaro or removed completely(creating a really awkward silence)

All of their WCW footage IS going to be edited to remove tunes they don't own. It doesn't make sense, financially, for the WWE to pay the cost to license Nirvana music JUST to have it appear in a few matches.

I'm not saying that it's right or wrong, I am however saying that paying the fees in order to provide the footage in it original form was an option. It's not a huge deal to me to hear a Nirvana song but I'm sad to see that an extremely wealthy company still insists on taking cost-cutting measures at the expense of delivering the unaltered content that its audience would prefer to have. I recognize that it's their prerogative, but it's still a disappointment.

when the UFC replays their cards they dub different walkout music over the original also. watching Anderson Silva walkout to anything other than DMX "Ain't No Sunshine", just seems wrong.

Music licensing these days is incredibly expensive, with the rare exception of a few bands who have been adamant about keeping their prices low enough that people can use them. Nirvana music, in particular, is both problematic (due to licensing issues) and VERY expensive to boot.
