They basically had Paul Heyman come out and all but say that CM Punk was gone from WWE for good. Uh-oh. If they're openly acknowledging something like that, using someone like him, then now I have my doubts. Your doubts for...? Also here's the segment:

For whatever reason, Heyman has credibility, and it allows him to manipulate crowds pretty much at will.
HOW Paul Heyman became credible in anyone's eyes is a mystery to me.

Meltzer was the source of the Punk return rumor. Just sayin' That seems to be the buzz. You can never tell with stuff like this. Uh-oh. If they're openly acknowledging something like that, using someone like him, then now I have my doubts. Your doubts for...? Also here's the segment: If WWE publicly entertained the backstage drama right on their show, mentioned Punk by name and suggested that he was never coming back, then I have my doubts as the possibility of this actually being true. It's always been WWE's style to ignore the backstage drama...unless they decide to turn it into a storyline. I appreciate you finding the clip for me, but if I ever decide to spend ten straight minutes watching RAW again it's certainly not going to be a Paul Heyman segment.

This either WWE way of saying f*** you to the fans ,using CM Punk to keep the crowd under control or Punk is returning at some point.
It felt like the fans was keeping hope that Punk would return at the end when Bryan was getting beat down.

They even had a Bryan beatdown? Oh man, WWE knew exactly what it was doing.

Even the WWE is still capable of putting on a good show from time to time.
...Literally as I wrote that I was reminded of the fact that the show featured a Scooby Doo cartoon.

You got a problem with Scooby Doo? Of course he does! Mikes WWE would NEVER stoop to using cartoons to cross-market to children...

You got a problem with Scooby Doo? Of course he does! Mikes WWE would NEVER stoop to using cartoons to cross-market to children... I loved that cartoon as a kid. I found it again a couple of years ago and thought I'd watch it for a laugh but it was so, so abysmal- so terribly animated and horrendously acted- that I couldn't even work up enough enthusiasm for ironic enjoyment.

"CM Punk was not at last night's RAW and was not in the script that they went to air with. One person in WWE creative said on Friday that Punk wasn't even discussed but didn't rule out a surprise return. Most people within WWE didn't know Punk would not be appearing for sure until Monday afternoon.
There was never a script written that included Punk in any way, beyond the few mentions that were made. There were going to be other mentions, by who we don't know, but those were nixed from the script.
Last night's RAW opened the way it did because WWE officials felt that if they ignored the Punk situation, the chants would become more powerful as the show went on. The feeling was that if they addressed it at the start of the show, the crowd would settle down some."
If this report is true then well played WWE, well played.

I take it that none of the suggested hijacking actually took place. That's a shame, it would have been funny to watch.

Is the chick with the white hair supposed to be Fabulous Moolah? Because according to the intrawebz, she was the only female heel on that show...

I think WWE provided enough entertaining matches and segments along with twists that the fans weren't able to hijack the show properly.
