I'd love a career mode. If I have to play as Roderick Rex and start in an Indy promotion to play through a career mode, I'll throw my thumbs in the air and shout "Screw you, palio!" with a grin on my face before brutally slaughtering everything in sight.

I'm with PSP. Career mode's not really the problem. Acting like NXT is starting from the bottom is part of it. Focusing on a division that's supposed to be for test subjects rather than the main roster is my other problem.

Chances are if there is one we'll start off at the bottom of the card anyways.

If there's a "Career" mode and you're going focus on "starting at the bottom," then NXT definitely isn't the bottom. Nothing WWE is the bottom. Now, I understand that it's a WWE game and they need to focus on WWE things, I'm not going to argue that point...but since that is the case, they shouldn't try it at all.

So do you suggest we start off in the indies? No. TNA did that and it was horrible (my judgement may be clouded by how badly the game sucks too). I suggest they don't try focusing on anything lower than the main roster. I don't care if you can be (not forced to be) a CAW or NXT superstar, but focusing solely on them is one of the worst things I think they could do.

NXT is WWE's D-league and their version of the bottom. So I'm not as resistant to starting out there as Bane is for whatever reason although I see his point.
What bothers me is that career mode will most likely suck as the day to day operations of being a basketball or baseball star, then what it takes to have your typical "storybook career" in WWE and I don't feel like 2K can replicate the experience of a WWE talent well.

I'm all for NXT mode *shrugs* NXT is where the best stuff is happening in WWE right now anyway That's the problem. They're putting more effort into people that could possibly be garbage once they make it to the "big leagues" of WWE as opposed to hyping up and putting more effort into they're real shows. I get that Vince is trying to make Triple H learn, gave him full control of NXT. I get that Vince has the same writers (mostly, they actually just hired a long time worker last month I believe) as 30 years ago. Vince isn't facing the fact that change needs to be made, not only with superstars, but with writing and even though I like Vince, his "decisions" are too predictable nowadays. Also, another note to point out is that Triple H has requested to change the "top of the hour" things on the main shows and Vince told him "no, it has worked for years and it will continue working" or something like that. However, Triple H is also the person that wanted to bring Flair back, so I can't really say he makes the best decisions either. My main point is they're trying to go through too many changes at once. Not only that, but IMO, the changes that should be made aren't being made while what I think are going to be bad in the run are being rushed, which means it will probably fail twice as badly. I don't know if ANY of that made sense outside of my head though.

I don't see the quality of NXT as a product of effort. In fact, I think it's being treated as an afterthought (as it should be), and THAT is what is making it the most entertaining stuff to watch. If the WWE got a hold of a great tag team like the Vaudevillains, they'd overproduce them into the ground almost instantly.

Yep, if there is a career mode I definitely want to start off in NXT, wouldn't feel right to me otherwise.

NXT I wouldn't mind starting from there. I agree with the day to day operations. Are we going to pretend Kayfabe or will it be the real day to day operations?

There is just no way they're going to have us walking around backstage calling The Undertaker "Mark" and stuff
