Oh I agree but he also signed the contract. Don't start calling for protection when you signed the contract. But you have no evidence that the contract specifies that he cannot speak on his beliefs. In point of fact, given how often they do it on the show, I sincerely doubt that it does. One of two things must be true; either the contract is very specific, in which case A&E would have repeatedly allowed him to violate it in the past (which, btw, voids such a contract...), or the contract is vaguely worded, in which case it probably wouldn't hold up under legal scrutiny, and in which case the man can hardly be held responsible for not somehow knowing exactly where the line was when it was never clearly drawn in the first place. Oh I agree, those contracts are built to be vague enough to cover themselves . I remain steadfast in being smart enough to know what you sign in any situation. I don't feel bad for the man, read what you sign and ask questions before you sign anything. |

Given that the family was worth 10 Million before Duck Dynasty, I'm guessing that they're fairly legal savvy and have good lawyers. I don't think this is a case of the man not knowing what he signed. If he cared to fight A&E in court, I'm absolutely certain that he would win... but that would only drag out the issue and detract from what he wants to accomplish in life, so there's not much logic in him doing so. And A&E knows that, and are counting on it. |

Playing video games is not a sport by any stretch of the imagination. Not everything that draws large crowds, is competitive, and has prize money is a sport.

I don't consider gaming a sport. That being said the next time ESPN show poker I might reconsider Interesting point, but I think you're safer to reconsider whether ESPN is a legitimate sports network anymore. Even if you ignore the poker crap, the fact that they spend hours reporting on sex scandals and criminal trials (albeit, of athletes) calls into question their dedication to sport in the first place. |
