Truth I don't know much about WCW, but I've seen the Arquette trilogy umpteen times through OSWreviews videos on it and from being on /wooo/'s video synch when they had them on. Are there enough big WCW names they could get from the 80s and early 90s that would work? WCW had a lot of great workers back then: Flair, Harley Race, Ron Garvin, Barry Windham, Ricky Steamboat, etc. But yeah, sadly, they wouldn't form a collection of names likely to be strong enough to move a modern video game. You need something like Legends of Wrestling for that (and sadly, those games had great rosters and abysmal gameplay). |

Your argument may never have been that the mode should have purely focused on current talent, but your rants always consisted of complaints that the developers were catering exclusively to the nostalgia crowd. ... which a Cena career retrospective would also be doing... *Shrug*. Those games were insanely fun. I think you'll remember my old avatar of the game's promotional pic of the creepy lucha guy from the UK version, UK wrestling legend Kendo Nagasaki. I actually liked Ready to Rumble, I think we've talked about this on numerous occasions. Yes, it's stupid, but it's a stupid celebration of a great time in a fake sport that I love *shrugs*
... I always create Jimmy King as a CAS each year 8)

I don't recall if I ever downloaded a Jimmy King CAW. I think I made him once, back in like the third Smackdown game or thereabouts, but I've gotten more anal about the type of characters that I add to my roster these days. I prefer them to be real wrestlers, but now thanks to the ability to edit the calendar and set up my own indie shows I have a spot to put guys like that on.
And yeah, calling RTR a celebration of wrestling is a good way to put it. The movie makes no bones about the fact that the sport is stupid, but lots of fun.
