Excellent theory.
It would explain why Mojo feels like a weak main roster guy.

Excellent theory. It would explain why Mojo feels like a weak main roster guy. Clearly not EVERY guy on the NXT roster has good fundamentals. Mojo Rawley sucks so hard that it's laughable 8)

I feel I should start watching NXT. Sounds like a fun show to watch.
Especially because of the Vaudevillians. They sound great.

The crowds are casual fans moreso than hardcore, so they still cheer for the good guys and boo the bad guys, which is refreshing, and there's a lot more tolerance for gimmicky characters, etc. There are also a handful of really good workers that will probably never get Over on the Main Roster. Unfortunately, complete loser goons like The Ascension probably WILL come to the Main Roster. Those two guys put the crap in craptastic.

I heard The Ascension is one of the most OVERRATED tag teams in WWE as of late. Oh yeah, I think I might like Sami Zayn & Tyler Breeze as well...

You will like Tyler Breeze. Or I will find you. And when I do, no one else ever will.

Zayn and Breeze both put on very entertaining matches. I'm not enthusiastic about Zayn's character. He's essentially "plucky can-do babyface #428" as far as I'm concerned. He'd be far more entertaining if they'd just let him be El Generico again.
Breeze has a great heel gimmick. I hate him and want to beat him savagely.

Only if the gimmick is over the top. "Obnoxious hippie environmentalist who rams his beliefs down everyone's throat" is a great heel gimmick. "Superhuman zombie who calls lightning from the rafters to smite his enemies" is not.

I actually had a chance to see Zayn/Generico wrestle for an indie promotion about 18 miles away a few years ago. I deeply regret not going.

... and then there's Pac (Adrian Neville). People love him, but for the life of me I cannot figure out why. His entrance is the most entertaining thing he does on-screen. He can't cut promos, and his entire match is nothing but flippy crap.

Yep. Breeze is pretty damn good. Makes me want to reach into my TV and strangle him.

I think I've stated in another thread, but while I used to be a huge NXT fan, I've fallen off the wagon as of late because it's not really that interesting story wise. Individual characters they've got tons of good ones, as well as in ring talent too.
Neville as champion is very iffy, If I like him or not depends on how I'm feeling. Being an age old fan of flippy flashy spot monkeys I can find him fun to watch but that Geordie accent makes my ears bleed. Kidd and Gabriel are the perfect match ups for him though.

Spot monkeys confuse me. I don't get fans 'being okay" with that kind of garbage. It's not the aerialism that bothers me... it's the lack of psychology about it. X-Pac/Syxx/Waltman had as much athleticism as Neville or any of these other current guys, but he also understood the basics of professional wrestling. He knew how to build a match and save the big spots for the right time. I don't see why so many fans accept any less from the Jeff Hardys of the world.

I came to this conclusion when Stone Cold was more popular than Bret Hart & Shawn Michaels
