Japanese Engineers To Build A Real-Life 18 Meter Gundam Robot
Tokyo- Earlier today, a team of Japanese Animators and Robotic Engineers announced their plans to build an 18 meter moving Gundam robot.
Yoshiyuki Tomino, the creator of the original "Mobile Suit Gundam" anime series off of which this giant robot is based, is thrilled with the news that his creation will soon be realized.
"When I created Gundam 35 years ago, I used my imagination freely because it wasn't real," Tomino told reporters in Tokyo this afternoon."That is what creativity is for -- when you dream of something. Four decades later, Gundam is growing into something new."
This gigantic robotic vision is set to be realized by 2019, just in time for the anime's 40th anniversary. It will be able to move, but the creators haven't decided exactly what moves they will program it to do. According to channelnewsasia, "the organizers are actually calling to the public for ideas about how to make it happen."
