You guys should just go jerk each other off in your Dragon Age fantasy room and be done with it.

You guys should just go jerk each other off in your Dragon Age fantasy room and be done with it. Actually we are only fans of the first game in the series. The second one is a mediocre game and complete crap compared to its predecessor. Also the third one looks like it'll be be of a quality directly in the middle of those two.

You mean the emo slave who hates mages because his former master was a mage, but then decides to hit on you even if you are a mage?

All jokes and my own unabashed love of the Elder Scrolls games aside, I actually believe I'd probably enjoy Dragon Age. Origins is the one everyone loves right? I got a copy of it years ago and just never bothered to try it yet.

If you're going to play a DA game and there is any chance that you'll like it, yeah, Origins is the one you want. 2 was... unabashedly inferior. It wasn't even that good of a game period.. the only reason I finished it is because it was Dragon Age.

I just remembered that Fenris was the only guy who ended up betraying me in the end... Hate that mofo. Most of the time, if you side with the mages, he goes against you, but comes back after the first fight in the finale. ... man, talk about your non-choices. "Oh man, who do I side with???" "Doesn't matter, you're going to slaughter everybody in the end." "Oh..."

LOL sad but accurate. The only character in your party with any depth is whatsisface the terrorist mage... and he's a whiney douchebag terrorist, so... no winners. He's also the guy that hits on you and traps you into having *** with him if you end up getting too far into his personal story. Luckily I dodged it, by being a D-Bag. Sure I lost 20 influence points with him, but it saved me the trouble of having to watch a gay *** scene... Yeah the romantic stuff was kind of not what I wanted to see at all.

In DA2 you had 2 choices, both of which ended exactly the same way.

Without getting spoilers (and I'm really trying not to read most of these posts for that very reason) what did DAO do so well that DA2 did so poorly? It seems universally accepted that DAO was amazing and the follow-up was a wretched insult to the franchise.
Also, is DAO the first chronological title in the series?

For starters, DA:O let your choices actually matter 8)

In DA2 you had 2 choices, both of which ended exactly the same way. Which is quite bad considering Dragon Age Origins had like... 20 or so different endings? 5 Archdemon endings, 5 king/queen endings, and then 4 romance endings... So in like different combinations you could have like over 100 different endings.

I don't care to do the math on all of the different possibilities for wrapping up DA:O... but to be fair, most of them are more or less the same with a detail here or there changed. Still, a pretty satisfying experience.
