I'm hearing A LOT of hate for the PS4 controller from my friends, particularly in that the controller has a glaring blue light on top that reflects off of your TV screen and can't be turned off. Apparently it's causing them headaches fairly quickly if they play in a dark room. I haven't had that problem yet...

I haven't had that problem yet... That's because your Mom makes you go to bed at 6 Nah, it's actually because I sit on the floor so that my controller is below where my TV stands.

I have almost no current interest in the next gen so this won't be affecting me, at least for a while, but my tv is set up in such a way that my controllers almost point up directly at it. I could really see this as being irritating, though I don't know why someone can't just place a strip of black electrical tape across the thing to cover it.
Then again I don't know why anyone should have to.

No big deal for me. Also couldn't they just put some tape over it if it really bothers them? Not sure the LED light actually does anything to my knowledge...

No idea how this would be annoying... Surely the TV Give off more light than the controller & that TV light would drown out the controller light.

Seriously? With the light of the TV as well... You like to ignore things don't you I have glaring Blue light on the front of my TV when it's on.... It's not caused a single problem for me in the TWO years i've had the TV. Including when I'm in a dark area in game as Soon suggested.

Above: Pure crap It could be the type of TV as well... What could? He means the level of annoyance. I have a plasma which employs a glass screen. That controller could really wind up pissing me off.

Ah, I have one of those plastic type screen that has little to no reflection off of it. But it still has the Blue glaring on it about the same size as the one on the PS4 controller & Because it's on my TV it's facing me unlike the one on the controller which is below face level.

The light from a tv screen is rarely glaring. Most of the time it's relatively ambient. LED lights are not ambient, by any stretch of the imagination. I can't imagine what kind of dolt put a bright blue light on the front of your television (though I have seen TV sets with glowing "power on" indicators, so I don't doubt that it's there)

I had a TV set with a red LED power indicator when I was in high school. I eventually ended up covering it with tape because it felt like someone was shooting a laser directly into my eyes when I watched TV in the dark.

That's the problem, the PS3 light is a vibrant florescent blue and from the pictures I've seen, a very wide light. Like an actual beam, almost. Against an LCD screen it might not be so bad but anything that reflects is going to be problematic. And I would imagine that it would be distracting to play in the dark with glowing blue hands.
