It Cujo Thinner Green Mile (yes, I know it's not called this originally) Those are my top 4 Crap, forgot The Green Mile. Love The Green Mile. Also forgot the other Darabont-filmed King book, The Mist. Though I liked the movie ending much more.

I've read Misery, The Dead Zone, and Thinner. Thinner was actually the first book I read of him.

I only know Thinner from the trailers for the movie which made it look terrible.

I wanted to choose the first answer, but it's bad English.

I wanted to choose the first answer, but it's bad English. That was purposeful.

Thinner is an example of using way too many pages to tell way too little story. The ending was great though.

I thought the ending was awesome. Other than that is was just okay, I didn't hate either of them by any means but the book is better than the movie, like always.
I think of all the books I've read of him Tommyknockers may provide one of the best lessons, though that's not one of my favorites by him either.
I basically enjoy everything I've read of the man it's just some I like more than others. Some take a little time too. Some of his books I can jump into instantly and not want to put it down, while with others the first 100 pages or so just seem a bit slow to get into.

I vastly prefer the King stuff that ties (even if only retroactively) to his metaplot.

Anyone see The Night Flier? That was surprisingly better than I expected it would be and stars Miguel Ferrer of my beloved Robocop as a cynical, mean-spirited bastard.

If you haven't read The Talisman and Black House (which he co-authored with a guy named Straub), I recommend you read them BEFORE getting into The Dark Tower. For starters they're easier to digest, and they ease you into something that the Dark Tower series just kind of tosses you into the deep end of. Hearts in Atlantis has strong ties to TDT as well.

I actually read most of the first book of Hearts in Atlantis, I really liked it and love the movie, thoughts it's cheesy as they come.

The movie is watchable because of Anthony Hopkins
