I've really come to like him as an actor but I have zero familiarity with that particular King book so I can't really have an opinion.

Eddie is a twitchy little heroine addict (albeit, in recovery for most of the story). If the movie ever does get made, I really suggest you check it out. If they don't screw it up, I think it's something you'll enjoy.

Hank was my favorite character. Mike might have tied him toward the end. Hanks wife was a psycho

Walt and Jesse are my two clear favorite characters, though Gus and Hank were right behind. Actually yeah Saul's in there too, and I did like Mike though I think a little less than everyone else. I couldn't care less about Badger but I got a kick out of Skinny Pete.

Mike is my favorite. Jessie annoyed me in the end. Such a whiny bitch. I liked todd as well. I hope call Saul doesn't suck

No spoilers! We've got new fans being cultivated here. I find it interesting how many people don't like Jesse. He has a huge number of fans, but there are a lot of people who can't stand him as well. I found him amusing and increasingly sympathetic, I think it's obvious that he's supposed to be a likeable guy who sometimes chose the wrong path and had some growing up to do.

I don't like Jesse that much. But they describe him as the guy who hang out with the wrong crowd.

I love how the "AMC HD" logo in Mike's sig fades away exactly when Heisenberg/Walter White/Whatever his name is says "You're goddamned right."

I noticed that too. I went out of my way to locate a gif of that exact dialogue exchange and it was the only correct (and full) one I could find. I guess whoever made it used a recording rather than the dvd as a source. Oh well, just changed it a little bit ago anyway.

I've gotta be honest... far and away my least favorite moments of that show were when Walter tried to seem dangerous. When he tries to intimidate SPOILER REDACTED everybody loved that scene, but I actually found it pretty eye-roll inducing.

Spoiler redacted? Are you referring to the person who has the famous "Shut up! Shut up shut up shut up shut up SHUT UP!!!" moment? If so I think the intimidation scene was fantastic not just because of Crantson's intensity but also because he wasn't trying to be intimidating. Rather, in an instance of wounded pride, he responded by simply being himself. After delivering the speech he looks just as stunned by the words that came out of his mouth as the person he was speaking to, and I found it to be an important development for the character.
(A little more spoilery comment to follow. I'd recommend those who are still going through the show not to keep reading).
Besides, the writers are smart enough to know that Walter isn't intimidating in the physically violent sense, he's a 50-odd year-old man with terminal illness. Instead his danger and intimidation come from his craftiness, his tenacious deviousness, his willingness to indulge in increasingly violent and startling machinations behind the scenes. He's a string puller, someone you don't cross not because you're afraid that he'll beat you up but because he's fully capable of making you and everyone you love dead. "The man who knocks". It's perfect.

Spoiler blah blah blah....
Sorry, but I did not love the whole "tread lightly" sequence. I didn't even like it. I'm sorry, but it wasn't clever. It was just more of Walt doing Walt stuff, and by that I mean thinking he was much more clever than he ever actually was. I wanted him to be smart in that scene, and he wasn't. Instead he tries to buffalo Hank, of all people. In the grand scheme of things, Walter is actually pretty much small potatoes. The number of people he's killed is miniscule, and a lot of his big triumphs are pure coincidence or luck. Hank has locked away guys with dozens of bodies in their personal graveyard. Walt was a guppy in that pond... and he should have known that.
Beyond that, it wasn't the first time that the series expected me to accept these sudden bursts of self-confidence from Walt. The whole "say my name" thing basically tore me out of the episode entirely, I didn't find it remotely believable.

I was referring to something entirely different. At the risk of spoiling pretty much the entire show I'll just say that I disagree with you. EDIT: Actually I just thought of something, in fact. TOTAL spoiler here. {Spoiler} You inspired me to think back to how many people Walter has personally killed and I lost count at about 20.
