Walter White lives forever......... I'm honestly considering getting a tattoo of him. The nearest tattoo place moved out of town and I'm currently broke anyway so this gives me plenty of time to think about it.

I'm totally gay for Walter White! Hey man, I don't judge. If a guy wants to get gay married to a fictional character, I say let 'em.

EDIT: Actually I just thought of something, in fact. TOTAL spoiler here. {Spoiler} You inspired me to think back to how many people Walter has personally killed and I lost count at about 20. He did not kill that many people. Even if he did, it's still a fraction of what guys like Gus killed.

He did not kill that many people. Even if he did, it's still a fraction of what guys like Gus killed. {Spoiler} The drug dealer he gassed in the pilot Crazy 8, strangled with bike lock Two drug dealers he ran over / shot for Jesse Gus, Hector, Gus' assistant in nursing home Two bodyguards in lab after killing Gus More than half a dozen neo nazis Lydia, with ricin Mike
That's 17 right there and I think I'm even forgetting a name or two that I had in mind a few minutes ago. That's 17 people that Walt is personally responsible for killing, to say nothing of the 9 witnesses and the dozens (or hundreds, if you count the plane crash) of deaths that were indirectly caused by a result of his decision to enter the meth business. Face it dude, he's a stone cold killa.

*eyeroll* I don't give credit for "people died because..." It always drives me nuts when people try to include the dead soldiers of every nation in Hitlers death toll.

I added "*spoilers*" to the title so then you guys don't have to keep posting "spoilers blah blah blah."

Community is the best comedy on TV right now.
AND... replaced Chevy Chase (who has wanted off the show for like two years) with the guy who played Mike on Breaking Bad. To bring this full circle.

Alright then, let it be know that from this point forward we're going to be talking about the show without spoiler warnings. Seriously, from here on out those of you who are interested in watching the show really shouldn't keep reading (starting with this very post) because the show is good enough not to ruin for yourself. Okay? Spoilers ahead. This is now a spoiler thread. You've been warned people. *eyeroll* I don't give credit for "people died because..." It always drives me nuts when people try to include the dead soldiers of every nation in Hitlers death toll. Fine, we'll just count the 17 people that he killed firsthand. Hardly "small potatoes".

I literally was bored 3 weeks ago, flipped to a random channel (I only have 3, so there wasn't much to choose from) and saw that. Watched it and watch it every night now. Once I get internet back, I plan on......well, watching all of the seasons from the very first episode.

Fine, we'll just count the 17 people that he killed firsthand. Hardly "small potatoes". Study up on real world drug dealers and get back to me. Pablo Escobar killed 17 people on a Tuesday because he couldn't get a good parking spot. Aside from distribution of really good drugs, Walter is a fairly petty criminal.

Only Knight can conjure up petty reasons to complain about one of the few things that he actually loves.

Only Knight can conjure up petty reasons to complain about one of the few things that he actually loves. ... I don't think pointing out that Walter wasn't a very effective criminal is a complaint, it's an analysis. I would argue that the show never intended us to see him as competent or effective. Again, most of his big "triumphs" relied heavily on coincidence or just plain luck. I believe that was an intentional choice. One of the general themes of the show seems to be that while Walter saw himself as "taking control" of his own life, he was never in control of anything, he was just reacting to situations beyond his grasp.

THAT was an analysis, rolling your eyes and mocking his abilities because he's not as effective a killer as Gus or Pablo Escobar reads more like a complaint. You're free to do either, I just couldn't help chuckling that even when you really like something, you can still find a way to look at it negatively. But that's why we love you.

Nah it's certainly not perfect, but I don't look at Walter's criminal escapaeds as relatively inept. If anything I found him to be quite an effective monster considering his previous existence as a meek family man.
