This is a little website sort of thing that somebody made in which says random facts about gaming. I've always thought it to be interesting, and I figured I'd post some of them here. The original website is: didyouknowgaming.com/Past Didyouknows: Rockstar's DNA: Animal Crossing Video:

I like the FPS genre, I just wish it wasn't dominating the entirety of gaming like it has been for the past few years.

I also like FPS games (when they're good and not the same damn game every year) but I'm with Brawn.

Rockstar did dip into racing though and I'm sure their not the first at that.

Manhunt wasn't exactly a crappy horror game, but your point is solid; the guy is full of crap.

You go where the money is or your going to be a trendsetter. Going into being a trendsetter costs money with a high risk. Which is why following the market is a safer bet.

Red Dead Redemption is an action-adventure Western with an optional non-canonical expansion that features zombies.

Red Dead Redemption is an action-adventure Western with an optional non-canonical expansion that features zombies. Manhunt is considered a psychological horror game according to Rockstar, and it completely failed at being that, therefore it is a crappy horror game. Also as to the Red Dead Redemption thing... Why does it matter if it's an expansion? This guy said they try to avoid doing what everyone else does, but then they go and add in one of the most overused pieces of crap in video gaming today to one of their games.

The only good racing games I know about are: Midnight Club (which may or may not be good, but I've heard it was) Need For Speed (which hasn't had a great game in a long while from what I've heard) And F1 (I believe it's what the game is called)
I wouldn't exactly call that copying everybody else neither. I will state though, that past what I just said, I have no other information in racing games, so I can't even say if there are any other (successful) racing games.

Red Dead Redemption is completely different than most games out there. Yes, they have an expansion with zombies, but zombies isn't the main aspect of the game itself. If you're saying Red Dead Redemption is the same as Left for Dead, just because zombies are in both (or an expansion for RDR's case), you're completely wrong.

Um, the expansion thing is kind of a separate game entirely. You don't even need Red Dead Redemption to play it. It doesn't disprove my point anyhow even if it is an expansion, because they added in a game/expansion based solely on the most overused concept in gaming.

Yup, you're talking to the wrong person about racing games, lol.
Let's put it this way, when I said "F1," I was actually thinking of "Forza" and didn't even know that F1 was a game....
So, is F1 a game? lol
And that doesn't change the fact. There are literally Huge amounts of FPS's out there, and only 5 (1 of them being Rockstar) or 4 racing games.

You're completely missing the point, and yes, I only have the zombie version, which is probably why I hate it so much...I hate zombies. RDR is not the same as Left For Dead, just because it has zombies. The aspect of the game and the whole game (other than having zombies) is completely different.

Yeah, that's utter bullshit. Racing games are possibly the most common type of games out there. There are hundreds of them. You're only thinking of the major franchises, not the thousands of other games out there.

Yeah, that still isn't defending the guy who said that Rockstar avoids doing what other companies are doing. Sure, the actual game might not focus entirely on zombies, but that still doesn't change the fact that they made an entire fucking expansion based on the most used concept on the gaming market. Sorry bro, but your argument is full of shit.
