Because if it needed to be revitalized by him, it wasn't all that great before he got there. the sport itself was on the rise, but the heavyweight division was on the decline. he became a big ppv draw rather quickly.

If you say so. I still think it sounds an awful lot like a big excuse from a guy who just didn't think his career path through very well.

*Rolls eyes* Everyone knows that I've always found Lesnar to be an entertaining guy but my god, what an impatient, fickle little bitch he is.

Lesnar strikes me as a guy who is all warrior and no poet. He's a doer, not a thinker, and that's fine I guess except that for some reason nobody has ever done anything to rein him in, which is what usually happens when someone with talent proves they can't think for themselves (*looks at Mike Tyson*) In a way, he's a more physically capable version of Sid Vicious/Justice really. Or a more bipedal version of Doug.

I believe all of my shots at Tyson are accurate... But in this case, I have particular insight. I used to be on a mixed martial arts team, and a fairly successful one. We were highly encouraged to spend time away from competition and practice together, and we did. One of the things I noticed was that a lot of guys who are very capable warriors, but not exactly scholarly types. They're straight up killers, and that's okay... but like any weapon, they need someone to aim them, or else they're liable to cause unintentional harm to themselves or others. 8) Tyson and Lesnar both strike me as these kinds of guys. They're more comfortable in the realm of the physical, and they need to be focused.

Then I suppose you're just better at sounding like you know what you're talking about when you take the time to describe him with objective observance instead of just throwing out comments like "He was never anything more than an overrated thug".

It was an incredibly awful attempt at a joke. a. you suck b. it was a prediction of how the fight is going to go. seeing that the first time they fought it ended the exact same way i predicted this one would go. c. you still suck, perhaps even more now.

Then I suppose you're just better at sounding like you know what you're talking about when you take the time to describe him with objective observance instead of just throwing out comments like "He was never anything more than an overrated thug". ... that statement is utterly factual. Your claims that Tyson was ever a skilled boxer are laughable. I even posted one of his Olympic boxing matches and challenged you and whoever else was pulling that "no wayz dood, Tyson had mad skillz!" nonsense at the time to show me at what point he did anything other than block - block - huge right cross! The dude is a maniac who didn't appear to feel pain and threw punches with record breaking force. A skilled boxer? Not in this lifetime.

Your claims that Tyson was ever a skilled boxer are laughable. Whatever you say. He was skilled at using his god given abilities to full effect. Dude knew how to lay someone out, but that's about it. He couldn't go the distance, and he fought a high risk-reward style. Eventually other boxers figured it out such as Holyfield, and they started beating him, and soon he fell because he couldn't adapt. Mike Tyson was not a 'skilled' boxer per say, but he was good for his time.
