Here's a thought. How about hiring someone known for playing intelligent characters instead of an itinerant tough guy? Oh, right, Morgan Freeman is too old and he's the only black actor in Hollywood who doesn't play tough guys. Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy don't play tough guys  EDIT: And Bill Cosby, possibly Don Cheadle(Although I'e only really seen him in Texas Ranger) |

I don't want the animated series "I'm a Marine tough guy" Stewart, so I definitely don't want The Rock, Elba, or any of those goons to play him. Why people can't accept the comic book version, who as a highly intelligent and thoughtful architect, is beyond me. I guess black guys can only be tough guys and gangsters... dudes with college degrees have to be white. ![]() Everyone know black people are rappers, soldiers or some homeless guy on the street. |

So if it were possible for Don Cheadle to play John, do you think he could do it right? Cheadle would probably make an excellent John Stewart... probably far better than he made a James Rhodes (who, oddly enough, IS a soldier tough guy type so logically, Marvel hired Terrence Howard and Don Cheadle...). I don't know about Denzel. I can't think of any specific reason I wouldn't like him in the role (other than being pretty old at this point), but I still don't like him for it. He probably wouldn't do it anyway. |
