And from that list I can safely assume that the only logical choice on that list...

Oh right, Punk comes in first via authority.
Either he ends up winning it or he looks strong and Kane comes out to do something to somehow get him eliminated. The second is the biggest possibility. It's almost guaranteed that he'll be among the final competitors.

Batista might not win the title, though I wouldn't be shocked if he did, however he'll be contending for it. I bet you they returned Batista so close to the Rumble so he could win it, look strong, and have a guarantee title shot at Mania, I bet on it. Maybe he'll win it, maybe he won't, but he's being pushed straight to the main event, mark my words.
And being a "go to guy" doesn't do much for Sandow. Sure Sandow had the WHC MITB and WWE had him lose his cash in. Not a great way of WWE saying "hey, this guys the next big deal".
Sandow may be a good wrestler and talker, but WWE only has 1 major title now. Whoever holds it, has to be a big deal. I don't seen Sandow as being a big deal and selling PPV's, not with how he's being used now.
If he got a push, won the IC, made his name bigger, etc. I could see him winning next years MITB or Rumble. But I don't see him winning this years Rumble.

He had an absolutely awesome match with Cena on one of the recent Raws for starters. It was the best match of the night. |

He's not built to be an over the top performer, but his snobby character makes him that over the top goon that people love to hate to hate to love to love to see get his butt chucked out of the ring etc. And because he's such a reliable talent, he has more time to get the crowd rolling. I have full confidence in him. |

Then Del Rio gets the title AGAIN at EC and we're forced to watch the most boring match in Wrestlemania history since Lesnar vs Goldberg.
