"On one hand it's shocking" Could've meant his feelings the moment he first heard about Punk's walk out. "On the other hand it doesn't surprise me" Could mean his current feelings after sitting down and thinking about the situation based on past comments Punk has made to him |

Something cannot be one without being the other. You're not surprised by something 5 days after you hear about it, you're surprised by it in the moment. You might still have difficulty processing it, but you are no longer, by definition, surprised. |
