I didn't like the first episode at all. I hope the show gets better...

I don't remember the first one I'm not surprised. That episode was all over the place and couldn't have been less memorable if it tried.

Got in the first two episodes of Shameless. It's chaotic and I like it.

I just ran upon this: "Brian and I had been dreaming of doing a Simpsons Lego episode for as long as we could remember, and in early 2012 we started seriously talking about making it happen. Then we found out that Lego was into doing a Simpsons couch gag. So it was a magical coming-together of pretend yellow people." My response: :headbang:

Simpsons hasn't been funny since before you were born. Simpsons was funny at one time? "Funny" is subjective, but I used to love the show. It was a poke at the dysfunction of the American family that usually took slices of everyday life (admittedly, often making the situations unrealistically large in scale... ) such as parental incompetence, rebellious children, jerk bosses, marital problems, and the like, found humor in them, and showed us a family who stuck together despite all of that. ... then at some point the show decided that it was socially relevant and got into doing episodes about "current events", commenting on religion and politics frequently, and so on. And it stopped being funny.

The Simpsons used to be a witty, hilarious, and, at times, poignant characterization of the American middle class. It jumped the shark by around season 9 or 10 (late 90s) when it started relying more on the absurd and, eventually, obsessive over-reliance on wacky scenarios and cameos by guest stars.
As one reviewer put it, with incredible accuracy: "I remember early Simpsons episodes ending with things like Homer and Marge going on a bicycle ride. This week he shot her in the neck with a blowdart".

Simpsons hasn't been funny since before you were born. And my father has yet to realize that it has sucked for over a decade now. I never liked Family Guy or the Simpsons. I have liked a few episodes of South Park though. Ughh I abhor Family Guy. Everyone and their dogs like that over-rated liberal-ganda fest. Speaking of Liberal-ganda fests, that is exactly what Simpsons is now. South Park is one of the best written shows, ever. It may be about the same crap, but delivers much more cleverly. Simpsons was funny at one time? "Funny" is subjective, but I used to love the show. And it stopped being funny. Yes.

Which is why I won't watch it. I would never tell you to do anything that your parents wouldn't approve of, but my personal opinion is that South Park is generally worth wading through the sewage for. The commentary is really well done. ... mind you, I don't allow my 13 year old to watch it, and won't when he's 16 either.
