Watching South Park has matured me beyond my age group. I was much more maître than almost all the kids I went to school with There is nothing mature about South Park. If anything, it's an excuse/advertisement for infantalism, as I already said. It used to be that 20-somethings were starting to develop a sense of sobriety about the world around them. These days 20-somethings generally still act like 4th graders, either bro-ing out all the harder, or becoming angry little cause-heads. Either way, it's the furthest thing from maturity. Ironically, South Park has parodied both of those mentalities, but what most people take away from the show is the swearing, sexual references, and lack of respect for humanity.

You ever see the episode about lowering the bar? Yes. Like I said, South Park does some absolutely brilliant satire sometimes. Unfortunately, they shroud it in so much immature nonsense that most viewers walk away with no clue what they were even trying to say.

I have a friend who loves South Park, but gets the wrong message from it.

Trey Parker and matt stone the creators of South Park are kings of satire. Trey Parker is a genius Team America: World Police is non-South Park proof of their excellence Trey Parker and matt stone the creators of South Park are kings of satire. Trey Parker is a genius They are pretty awesome. I wish they didn't feel the need to be so vulgar, they could broaden their audience enormously if they didn't coat everything in such a heavy dose of infantalism. Well, vulgar is a part of their style. I think it is them doing their best to avoid political correctness, and to display that they have no boundaries Which is why I won't watch it. I would never tell you to do anything that your parents wouldn't approve of, but my personal opinion is that South Park is generally worth wading through the sewage for. The commentary is really well done. ... mind you, I don't allow my 13 year old to watch it, and won't when he's 16 either. My parents don't care. They used to, but now they don't. I made sure of that... I would never tell you to do anything that your parents wouldn't approve of, but my personal opinion is that South Park is generally worth wading through the sewage for. The commentary is really well done. ... mind you, I don't allow my 13 year old to watch it, and won't when he's 16 either. And yet you recommended it to me. You aren't his kid. He doesn't have to feel the guilt of when you became a serial rapist

You are right, they shouldn't have it on the same level of ridiculousness as those shows it is often associated with

My point is that "they do that on purpose" doesn't justify anything. "You smell bad" "Yeah I don't shower and roll around in manure." ... Do you understand how stupid that is? Just because something is an intentional choice doesn't make it any better than if it's done carelessly or by mistake... in fact it usually makes it worse.

And when putting it in simple terms, that is something I really should have caught on to before I posted originally lol
