all seriousness, when i was a kid, snow day meant you were outside from the moment you woke up, till the street lights came on..good times, man..good times I remember playing football in the snow with my friends, snowball fights. I just realizes I never made a snow man. well, the woods near my house easily flooded and when it snowed it would freeze over. we would play hockey all day. rare occasion we could use our skates for outdoor hockey..

I remember playing in the snow..........I loved building snow forts....and making snowballs

Here's a secret; you can't teach a child to be a self-starter. I can tell him to read a book, but if he doesn't want to, then I've turned reading into a chore. I can tell him to go outside and play with his brother, but if I force him, then I've turned it into a chore. Parenting sometimes requires understanding that a kid, especially once they hit the tween/early teen years, is going to have some personality traits of their own. He's also an A student (which I never was), helpful, generally respectful, and well-regarded by almost every adult who knows him. I'm very proud of him.
