I don't remember who it was, I just remember that he said he made the first couple out of genuine interest but supposedly made the next three or four because people were giving him so much shit about bringing it up where it "didn't belong". Wasn't it Chris? Nope, lol. I know that much for sure. |

I remember that after Knight and a few others complained about GTA V I made a specific thread so we could just talk about it there. I even opened the thread with the comment that I was trying to keep GTA discussion to that thread so we wouldn't annoy anyone else in unrelated topics. Then one of the 2K moderators bitched at me because some other guy had made half a dozen pointless GTA threads to annoy people and assumed that I was trying to do the same. You are correct, you did. It didn't stay there though. The conversations were all over the place. You can't say they weren't. GTA conversation wasn't anywhere near as pervasive as the comic stuff is. Not anywhere close. It didn't come up as often or last as long, and even if it DID wind up everywhere, such as the movie threads (which I doubt), it wasn't like it had already been given its own entire section of the forum. It was maybe five people on a forum of hundreds spending perhaps a month talking about the first new game to come along in five years. It dripped into a few irrelevant conversations, yes. And it did annoy some people, definitely. Though in the case of GTA most of the complaints were from people who by their own admission "didn't get the hype" and voiced clear disinterest in the series to begin with, right from the getgo before anyone even had a chance to beat it into the ground. Until the last weeks before release I wasn't even a part of this because prior to that I paid absolutely no attention to the game, its announcements, or its prerelease hype. Though I'm sure that I was guilty of bugging someone with the subject, I immediately tried to limit its influence as soon as someone let on that they were getting upset about it. |
