This is the thread where people can come up with battles between comic book characters and discuss the outcome, under specific stipulations.
Inaugural Battle:
Green Goblin (Original Amazing Spider-Man) vs. The Joker (New 52)
-The battle takes place on a roof of the Waldorf-Astoria building in Manhattan
- The Joker has 3 things:
1. The Joker Gas
2. Explosive Bubblegum (it just seems like something the Joker would have)
3. A Knife
The Joker also has the Jokermobile
The Green Goblin has 3 things:
1. His hoverboard
2. Missiles inside the hoverboard
3. Jack-'o-Lantern Bombs
Who wins?
RESULT: The Green Goblin uses his hoverboard to fly over The Joker. The Joker tries to see if chewing the explosive bubble gum, then popping it would make a difference. However, the Green Goblin has a height advantage and The Joker is never getting close enough to the Green Goblin to get blown up by the gum.
Green Goblin tosses a handful of grenades at the explosive bubble gum bubble, which gets stuck in the bubble. The grenades detonate, blowing the Joker into bits.
However, all the commotion got the attention of Spiderman, who just so happened to be around. Spiderman catches up to the Green Goblin in time, snatches the Goblin's hoverboard from under his feet using his webs. Spidey throws the board off the building and the Green Goblin is sent to jail, after he falls flat on his face and taken to the cops.

Depends on the storyline.
But seriously though, if these two were to battle in real life Goblin would likely win. Joker really wouldn't stand much of a chance. He's just a normal man(although a psychopath) with normal weapons.

What if this were the scenario:
The Joker has plans on blowing up the Waldoff-Astoria building just because there's an important meeting going on there.
At the same time, the Green Goblin plans on holding everyone in the building hostage as a way to attract Spider-Man to the scene and start a fight with him.
However, both the Goblin and The Joker encounter each other and their different plans causes a fight in between the two, as they both are annoyed at each other's interference in their plans.

Even Stewie could tell you that the Green Goblin massacres The Joker.
I've looked this up on almost every other site and this is like, ONE thing that the Internet agrees on.

Megaman X vs. BomberMan
- The battle takes place underground
- Scenario: Bomberman goes to blow a potentially dangerous material underground, but Megaman X needs it to cure a sudden outbreak of a mysterious virus, which isn't known for having an alternate cure, except for this material. Megaman X must fight to prevent Bomberman from blowing the material up.
Who wins?

In a direct fight, yeah, Goblin would beat Joker's ass. Joker's generally more the type to kill everyone you love, then kill you when you don't expect it.
