2K Games posted a few more general details for the upcoming release of "WWE 2K15." According to a report from SEScoops on May 14, the publisher may not be launching the next installment of the series in 2014 as previously indicated. Instead, the company is possibly planning a release window set for early 2015.
Aside from giving the development teams some more time, the delay seems to make since from a financial standpoint. The WWE brand usually strive during the first quarter of the year due to the popular Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania events. "WWE 2K15" could benefit from the hype surrounding Wrestlemania 31, which takes place on March 25 of next year.
Rumors are also suggesting that the "30 Years of Wrestlemania" mode from "WWE 2K14" has been replaced. You can find a screen featuring the campaign of last year's installment from the official Facebook page of the franchise with the photo near the top of this article. Instead, "WWE 2K15" is expected to launch with a "My Career" mode where the player begins his or her wrestling career at NXT, the development division of the WWE. He or she has to work their way on to the main roster, ultimately winning championship belts.
The official roster for "WWE 2K15" has still not yet been announced. However, potential leaks suggest that John Cena, Justin Gabriel, Summer Rae and The Undertaker are going to be playable. In the past installments, the complete list of characters was usually announced during an event set before the SummerSlam, which takes place in Aug. of this year. However, the delay may have changed the announcement plans.
Only the PS4 and Xbox One versions "WWE 2K15" have been announced by 2K Games so far. The switch to the next-generation systems should bring many some improvements to the gameplay and visual elements. The aforesaid "WWE 2K14" has an official launch date of Oct. 29 in North American and Nov. 1 in Europe for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Wait, the career mode thing is official or just speculation? These are all speculations. Gotcha. They seem to be jumping the gun on the 'Career Mode!' bandwagon way too early. There is 0 proof that it is the case from what I've heard.

Even if "My Career" sucks completely, it will be better than AE and 30 Years of Hogan, Austin, and Cena modes ever were.
I should say "would be"... yes I realize this is all just speculation

Most of that sounds pretty cool, hopefully it's true.

As far as I know Cory Ledesma had been pretty involved with 2K15 before he and everyone else split with the company, so his design and direction will probably be apparent in the upcoming game. Being that he's the main person that we had direct interaction with at the playtest, this would be a good thing. Even if someone else is actually MAKING the game, Cory's and our input will hopefully be apparent within it. While it's true that we were making suggestions for 2K14, the next game is the one that we had the opportunity to really influence.
What worries me is that I'm not seeing (or hearing) any real signs that the new design team is particularly into wrestling, they're likely just guys who have been working on stuff like the NBA games and were just moved over to a different division. No one's come out and told me this but the pieces I've put together seem to suggest that 2K wants to do everything (research, playtesting, etc.) completely in-house, using existing employees instead of forming a new group of people specifically knowledgeable about and experienced with wrestling to handle the WWE series.
While a clean slate of designers may be a good thing that ultimately freshens up the product for the better, it concerns me that a team of legitimate wrestling fans - love them or hate them - may well have been replaced by "regular" 2K guys who probably don't know the ins and outs of what makes the sport entertaining and the detailed features that the fans want and have come to expect, and they could very well see the WWE series as business as usual, just another franchise.

If that's legit, we're in trouble!!!

Oh, good, a baseball game guy doing our wrestling games...
So the bright side here, possibly, is that some people who took it upon themselves to blame Corey & Company for every little thing they didn't like about the WWE series will start to realize how good they had it...

I really hope it's not the MLB 2K team they are horrible. Seriously MLB2K is trash, The Show is good, but not 2K. Is Bryan Williams still with 2K?

I trust in the WWE games fans to still blame Ledesma, even when he's not involved. Stupidity never fails.

NBA 2k games are great but (even though I've never played them) The Show has continually outshined MLB 2K in terms of baseball. This has me worried.

This has me worried. yeah and the fact that Brad Ward is a Community Leader and pretty much worries me as well. Someone as incompetent to direct a MLB game correctly could very well be entitled to stupid mistakes like removing the creation suite and Universe mode.

I used to love baseball but honestly that game series itself pretty much destroyed all the love I had for the sport I guess since I was playing it more and watching less.
