I was pretty convinced that it was going to be the best Marvel movie this year, but Winter Soldier set the bar really high.

I feel like the movie'll be a lot of fun, but its bizarre nature will probably turn a lot of people off.

There's every chance that people won't give the movie a fighting chance, but Marvel obviously thinks that at this point they've got a good enough reputation with these movies to try something a little "out there." A lot of people predicted that Avengers wouldn't do well because it was too much for mainstream audiences, and obviously it did just fine. |

Dark Knight Rises is ranked higher than Dark Knight, Up and No Country aren't even on the list. The hell is wrong with you people?

Well, No Country For Old Men was overrated arthaus mediocrity, so it doesn't belong on the list... (and no matter how great you honestly believe it is, the fact is that critically acclaimed art movies never make money. The "Best Picture" Oscar usually goes to "the best movie that nobody saw this year.")
DKR made more than DK on the strength of DK. DK was a total aberration, there was no way it should have been as good as it was, but it certainly increased the stock of it's sequel quite a bit.

Honestly if this thread was made just to keep Mike from whining it makes me see his point as a lot less valid. Sure I'd be annoyed if I created a thread for movies in general and pages of it were filled with nothing but comics.
But I felt that his disdain for the typical nerdy comic discussion made him unable to see that comics are just as important in popular culture as any other type of genre.
