it is not a mental problem, it is a learning disability, major difference........

Autism spectrum conditions are Neurodevelopmental, which means that they stem from an impairment in the development of the brain and/or nervous system. Instead of getting offended by someone using a term that you don't prefer, perhaps you should consider trying to understand that the term "mental problem" isn't always intended as an insult (and conversely, "learning disability" is frequently used as one) Technically speaking.........
a mental problem is a psychosis or impairment of the brain (so you are right)
however aspergers (in most cases) inhibits the motor skills and social skills of a person
however it is totally different from being a Sociopath..........
I just hate people who think everyone with a major psychological problem (that Lanza dude from Newtown for instance) has Autism.......
it pisses me off..........

I don't think there was any attempt to lump you in with anyone. Not in this case anyway. soon was simply using an accurate term to describe a condition. There are LOTS of mental conditions that aren't psychotic. Being narcoleptic is a mental condition. |
