1. He also got robotic legs. That should tell you how bad it was. 2. Yet. FREAKING robotic spiderlegs.... ...which is even stupider.

1) There is no such character as BoBo Fett
2) Darth Maul's entire existence was pointless.

FREAKING robotic spiderlegs.... ...which is even stupider. wait who got robotic legs? And even though the clone wars did a lot of ridiculous things (Knight used the example once of the sides of the force being represented by two people) I was looking foward to where it would've gone with Asoka leaving the order had it not been cancelled. But the series pretty much had run Ira course by that time

At this point Star Wars Morgan Freeman and clowns could be wiped from existence and I'd rejoice.

I like Darth Maul but I have to agree, his entire existence was pointless. He was painted as a mysterious threat but was summarily dispatched in an easily avoidable way in his eleventh total minute of screen time. The character had a presence and did kill an important character but in the grand scheme of things he was kind of just "that one guy" in a lengthy revolving door of apprentices for Sidious.
I don't really get the Fett fanboyism. He was a cool-looking character with the same generic mystique and that's all fine and good, but the cries that he should have been so much more important and that his death was ignominious and unfair are very silly to me. He was a supporting character that basically fulfilled his purpose- he brought Solo to Jabba then died during Solo's rescue. The guy had an interesting appearance and that's about it, the only reason why his death is considered pointless is because fans decided that he had to be more important than he was.
I would argue that it's a tie: They were equally pointless deaths to characters that, in the grand scheme of things, were just bit players anyway.

I'm fine with the way he died. He wasn't important to the story, he was just a dude who was there.

Weird thing is how Lucas marketed Darth Maul as a huge role, at least over here and made out like he was an iconic character in the prequel trilogy.
Only for him to be killed as soon as possible.

Don't get me wrong, I had all the original Star Wars action figures growing up and Boba Fett was my favorite. But I didn't labor under the delusion that he was an incredibly important character whose death pulled the rug out from under me in some kind of legendary "fuck you". I just thought he looked neat. Hell, my other favorite figures were Ree-Yees and the Gamorrean Guard, the latter of which I lost before eventually discovering that his death was at the hands of my dad's lawnmower.

Oh no, he was pushed hard here too. He was all over the print ads, the cups, the trailers, and so forth. The novelization of the movie came with several different covers and the one that featured his face supposedly outsold the others like four to one.

When I started getting into the EU, I had a moment of bewilderment when I discovered that there was a huge mythology built up around Boba Fett. I did end up really liking the Mandalorians in general and some of the background stories they wrote for Fett, but I still never got on board with bringing him back from the dead, as if somehow he was "too good" for the death he got.

At least I assume you speak of Star Wars 1313.
