Agnostic. I'd say I lean towards believing that there is a god, but I'm not spectacularly fond of the church and its followers. I also wouldn't believe the stuff like "God hates the gays" or whatever. I'm not trying to start anything with the Christians in this chat, but I find extremely hard to believe there's an all-knowing, all-loving and all-powerful God out there when the world is in the shit it's in. I find it hard to believe when there are people who have done nothing wrong, but suffer the greatest griefs and tragedies. I don't get why there would be a God that would let this happen. If he's all-knowing, by creating the world he did, he knew from the first moment that his creations would be going through things like this. So why would he do that? Why would the all loving God allow a world like this with so much sorrow and hate and war and everything else come to be? The only thing that I can think of is that he enjoys it. That he finds some cruel joy in watching over the pain. Otherwise, if this God is all knowing, meaning he knew how it would be, what's the point? EDIT: This is just ignorant Atheist rubbish, by the way. I was Christian for years. Been through Theology classes. All that only made me feel stronger about that stuff.

I used to think like that too.

I'm Christian. The church I attend most often is United Baptists but I call anyone who believes what the Bible says despite how they interpreate it a Brother/Sister.

Agnostic Atheist. I don't know for certain if there is or isn't a god and for that reason I don't belief in one. I'm not saying for 100% there is no god(which what people seem to think atheist believe)

I'm not saying there is no God for certain, but is there is, I want nothing to do with him. Not after he lets the world be as fucked up as it is.

The reason the world is the way it is, is because God loves us enough to give us free will. There are those who abuse that gift, and thus, the world is "fucked up". Remember, according to Christian beliefs, this world became evil when sin was introduced. God doesn't enjoy it, that is why he came to Earth in the form of a man, his son, Jesus Christ. He wants us to be redeemed, so he sent his son to die on the cross as the ultimate sacrifice, that we may be saved.

I've often thought about free will that a God could give his creations free will without them doing things he considers "Bad" by simply not allowing those things to exist. The creations can do what they want but since these bad things are never created, they still have free will. ...I should probably sleep more haha

Just purely out of curiosity and being too lazy to go back through the pages, what's everyone religious stance/practice here? I know Tedd is... Lutheran, right? What about you other guys? Baptists. WSS, God doesn't hate the gays. He loves them. He hates homosexuality. The idea that God hates anyone is bullcrap.

Meaning, God would have known the result of this freewill. It's not like he installed it and then was surprised when Eve took the Apple. He knew what was to come. He knew the pain that would endure. What was the point in letting it happen then?

"Installed it"
I like the idea that God is just sitting a a massive computer and created things through an installation disk. And that he has sit and wait grumpily as it updates every few days.

I also wouldn't believe the stuff like "God hates the gays" or whatever. I don't know why people say that God does. Because Calvinist Doctrine teaches double predestination. They assert that since God chooses to give Faith to some, he must inherently be choosing the rest to go to Hell. If God chooses people to go to Hell, he must hate them. Add in a strong dose of legalism and you've got "God hates gays." (Though why they focus on homosexuality specifically I'm not sure, I suspect it's because it's a lightning rod that gets them attention)

You're an atheist if you're 100% sure there is no god. You're an agnostic, Seto.

How can we consider a killing yourself to yourself a sacrifice? Not to mention they will come back in three days. And what good is "free will" if we are going to punish for using it? God is all powerful if he didn't want evil to exist he could just prevent it.
