Is Citizen Kane that boring movie with the huge plothole that critics claim to be the best movie ever? it is. it was "ahead of it's time" but the true story behind the movie is much more compelling. |

yeah i didn't like citizen kane either. but, the movie RKO 281 was amazing...has Malkovich in it...nuff said RKO 281 was a great movie, agreed 100% One of my favorite pseudo-historical movies of all time. |

RKO 281 was a great movie, agreed 100% One of my favorite pseudo-historical movies of all time. what makes it "pseudo"? It's just not particularly historically accurate. A lot of things were switched around for dramatic purposes, and Welles himself wrote that "Susan" was NOT based on Marion Davies, and Kane was an amalgam not particularly based on Hearst. One could argue that Welles only said that to stave off political and social pressure, but the fact is that the man himself denied the story. |
