If you were to watch the game, you know the point I was getting across and how accurate the point is. i just watched a 15 minute highlight package..you left out how seattle got pressure on Manning with a 4 man rush. if your defense can pressure a quarterback with out blitzing that means you can flood the passing lanes with the other 7 guys...i don't need to see a game to realize that.. Woopy doo, you watched a 15 minute preview of an hour long game, lol. Do you really expect that to showcase the whole game, or just 15 minutes of it?

changing defensive looks, changes the timing of pass routes, causes the passer to hold the ball longer, allows the defensive front to get pressure, which causes rushed throws. and looking at the stats, the broncos had decent numbers..looks to me that defense made plays when they needed to. All that shows is that the numbers don't really tell the story. also illustrates points off turnovers. the pick-6 was caused by a pass rusher hitting Peyton's arm during the throw..tell me how that was the broncos sucking and seattle not being a good defense..?

No, but you do need to watch an entire game to know that the 15 minute highlight package doesn't show you what happened in the entire game. Manning wasn't always under that kind of pressure, particularly in the second half.

Into wrong-headed assumption land. Seattle has run the same defense for four years straight. One would suspect by the way you're talking that they should have overwhelmed every single offense that they faced in such a manner. BUT WAIT! It seems as if they have actually lost games somehow! How could that be? Perhaps because, sometimes, strategies don't ALWAYS do exactly what they're meant to accomplish. And perhaps, one might even surmise, the best offense in the entire league and one of the better offenses in the history of the game might have been able to overcome it, in the same way as the 49ers, Cardinals, and Colts did. Except that what actually happened was that the best offense in the league folded like... something that folds really easily...

defense wins championships!! i played football in middle school &we were a 2 time champ , there was numerous times where my defense bailed our offense out & won the game for us! #1) the offensive line did a horrible job @ protecting peyton #2) the defense couldnt tackle for shit........ #3) peyton didnt choke...... football is a team sport & imo peyton did all he could to try to win the game but his other teammates didnt step up #4) all season long denver has never played a defense like seattle , theirs a reason why their #1 in league

He threw several bad passes. Beyond that, while Seattle's defense certainly played a great game, they didn't play a game so great that they could have held the best offense in the league to 8 points. Delude yourself to the contrary all you like.

I know very little of football, but I'm pretty sure Peyton has a proven history of choking when there's pressure on him.

I know very little of football, but I'm pretty sure Peyton has a proven history of choking when there's pressure on him. Arguable. He has a record of his teams falling apart in big games. Some people consider him a choke artist. I believe that there were several moments where he should have made better decisions or could have played up to his potential and didn't. Giving Seattle all of the credit for Denver completely shutting down like that is wishful thinking, but people LOVE very very simple stories and hate it when the only real explanation is a complex one that involves multiple moving parts. Denver played very poorly. Seattle played pretty well. The combination of factors led to what should have been humiliating for Denver and shameful for Seattle, but apparently Seattle fans don't want to acknowledge that their victory wasn't entirely based in their pure unadulterated awesomeness, so clearly Manning's past failures in similar situations have no bearing on the this situation.

What's your point, exactly? First of all, a single key player CAN tank a team in football. Your coach's awesome inspirational cliches aside, the fact of the matter is that a machine is made up of moving parts, and if a key part isn't doing it's job, the whole machine functions poorly, and may very well not function at all. Manning wasn't entirely responsible for the loss, but for you to claim that a single player falling apart in such an important game couldn't possibly have an effect just because Mama Says crocodiles is ornery cuz they got all them teeth and ain't got no toothbrush makes me think you're even less intelligent than even I could have imagined. Sorry, not buying your "because it's a BEAST!" argument for Seattle anymore than I buy it for Lesnar. In fact, just so we're clear, "because; BEAST!" is never going to be a successful defense for any point in any argument, ever.

He also chokes when it really counts. Let's talk turkey kid. Manning has a whole slew of NFL records, and is, on paper, one of the best QBs in NFL history. In all that time, he's been to the Super Bowl a grand total of 3 times, and has won a grand total of 1. He chokes. Deal with it.
