... the outline doesn't even seem to work. It's utter nonsense from the ground up. Marx knew it was a recipe for tyranny. Anyone that buys that socialism is an ideal for the people doesn't understand the history involved. Socialism is, at it's heart, the idea that the state knows what is best for all people everywhere. By it's very nature, at best, it serves a minority well by subjugating the majority. I believe the argument was actually about communism, but meh. Your point still stands. Let me ask you a question. In practical terms, what is the difference? Both argue that "the people" should communally own all things, most specifically all means of production, and that some subsection of "the people" should distribute from that production back to "the people" based not on how much anyone actually contributed, but based upon the extremely nebulous system of "according to need." ... apparently every socialist leader ever really "needed" all of the guns and the vast majority of the automobiles 8)

What's funny is you could argue both of them being in the movies at all is more pointless than they're actual deaths. And like Mike I'm not a big fan of Bobo or Maul for that matter being looked at as having "so much more potential than the movies showed"

Bobo. The more I hear that incorrect name the more amused I am by it. Since it's somewhat relevant, I finally just ordered this Luke Skywalker figure last night. It's not my favorite figure of Luke that's out there but it's also not 300 dollars and it IS my favorite version of the character so I'm happy to finally have it coming. I missed my chance when it was in the stores in like 2006 so it's nice to remember it at a time when I happen to be browsing Amazon with some spare cash.

I have the Boba Fett from that series 8) In fact I have something like 24 Boba Fett figures in different sizes and types, at last count. For Christmas this past year I got this... I'm hoping that eventually they make a black box version of Luke in his tan Dagobah outfit (my favorite Luke costume). I got Han a couple of months ago just because the store had it and my wife figured it was better to get it then, then to wait until I decided I needed one and bought one on Amazon for twice the price 8)

That's not just my favorite version of Luke, that whole phase of Luke makes for my all-around favorite character of the entire franchise. The black series (unrelated to the "black Luke" that I just mentioned, for those who aren't familiar) is supposed to be a really great line. I know you don't care for Maul but the work they did on that figure was really good, I'm always hearing about that and your pilot Luke figure. If they did Jedi Knight Luke I'd be all over it.

Some of the people I know who hate Revenge of the Sith call it "Revenge of the Shit". It seems that other people have realized that it's not as clever or original as they'd like to think and choose to just call the movie by its acronym, Star Wars ROTS, instead.

Still better than Shit Lords... just imagine Palpatine shooting shit out of his fingers instead of lightning....

Yeah the Maul figure is absolutely beautiful.
Don't get me wrong... I acknowledge that Maul, more or less "looks cool." I just hate what he represents, in terms of both the movies themselves and the shift in the fanbase.

I wasn't aware of that, I thought that you always called him dorky-looking and so forth. I mean, I myself always thought that he looked cool, but when someone attacked his appearance I basically just let it go because I figure that it's Star Wars, just about everything that looks cool is also kind of dorky.

Boba Fett's death is indefinitely more pointless. Darth Maul was at least the lead antagonist of a movie. Poor Fett got the random bad guy treatment in movie 6.

That's like saying that Darth Vader's lighsaber is the lead antagonist of Episode IV. Maul isn't an antagonist at all. He's a plot point. He could just as easily have been an inanimate object in the hands of Darth Sidious.
